  • Always pre-heat your waffle maker fully before adding in any batter. If you add the batter to a cold or lukewarm waffle iron, they won’t get fluffy. Or worse, you could end up with brunt edges or a dry middle.
  • Keep waffles warm in the oven. If you want to batch the waffles, set your oven to low heat and then keep cooked waffles stacked in there till you are ready to serve.
  • Use a non-stick waffle iron. There is nothing worse than not being able to remove the waffle from the pan without it sticking and breaking apart. The easiest thing to do is use a non-stick waffle maker or use a small amount of spray oil between batches.

There are so many waffle makers on the market at a range of prices. How To Make Vegan Buttermilk

Buttermilk from cow’s milk is somewhat sour milk due to the lactic acid in the milk. The buttermilk curdles for a slightly thicker consistency than regular milk.

When making vegan buttermilk, the aim is to replicate this acidic taste and thicker texture using just two ingredients: oat milk (or soy milk) and apple cider vinegar. When you leave these liquids to settle for a few minutes while you prepare the rest of the waffle batter, they should curdle slightly.

How To Make Strawberry Compote
